No Pain, No Gain
Well, it's probably no accident that pain was the theme of Episode 3.
What was the quote? "Maybe it hurts for a reason."
The little "super hero" girl who couldn't FEEL pain, taught everyone a lesson about why it's necessary to hurt. (I have to admit, I winced a little bit when she pulled out the staples...)
Let's see:
Burke realized he'll have to hurt to get his dexterity - and confidence - back.
Cristina found out she'll have to suffer through his recovery, if she's going to be a good girlfriend.
Meredith found out double-dating is NO fun, when the men in her life start measuring you-know-whats, trying to one-up the other... ignoring HER.
Addison soothed her pain with hot sex then kicks McSteamy to the curb only to be caught crying (by MEREDITH, no less) in a supply closet. Ouch.
Izzie remained frozen in her pain outside the hospital and can't seem to get in the door... and it was Alex who had the right words to get her planted feet to move.
Callie was (figuratively speaking) slapped in the face by George who found togetherness too uncomfortable when Callie invaded his cosy, comfy space he shares happily with Izzie and Meredith. (Quick aside: He's STILL not over Meredith...?)
Okay - enough of that... Favorite scene?
It's down to three for me:
1) LOVED Alex, Cristina and George betting on how McDreamy would handle seeing Meredith and Finn at lunch together. HILARIOUS...
2) The closing scene between Alex and Izzie was so sweet. I loved Alex being all doctorly.. "Does it hurt?" "Where does it hurt?" And then saying just the thing she needed to hear. LOVED IT.
3) And I really loved the scene where Cristina comes home with three raw chickens, hacks one in half ... and then tosses Burke a surgical kit challenging him to "put it back together." Talk about tough love. Maybe they'll have staying power after all.

PS - I cannot WAIT to see McSteamy next week. The previews of his sexy smile have me hooked. He's the guy we're supposed to love to hate, I guess. But I'm already a Big Fan. He's just yummy.
