Withdrawls

I'm going through withdrawls.
I know some people may have missed an episode here or there, but not me.
And I'll bet -- if you're reading this -- not you, either.
I suppose we could scroll back down to the beginning of this season and revisit some of the comments now that we know how some of the storylines are playing out.
Nah....
January 4th. That's when the NEW shows begin.
January 4th. Hang in there.
Okay... So instead, I thought I'd dig around for some "Grey's Anatomy" news and compile it for you.
Here's what's shakin':
•  The BIGGEST news is that "Grey's Anatomy" grabbed Golden Globe nominations for Best Drama on television. (Okay.. say it with me... Uh... DUH!) It's up against Fox's "24", HBO's "Big Love" and ABC's other biggie "Lost".
Ellen Pompeo (Meredith) earned a nomination for Best Actress in a drama. Her competition includes Patricia Arquette of "Medium", Edie Falco of "The Sopranos", Evangeline Lilly of "Lost" and Kyra Sedgwick in "The Closer".
Patrick Dempsey (sigh... McDreamy) is up for Best Actor in a drama. He'll have to beat Michael C. Hall from "Dexter", Hugh Laurie from "House", Bill Paxton in "Big Love" and Kiefer Sutherland in "24".
Katherine Heigl ("Izzie") is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a series, miniseries or movie. She is one of my favorites, and I truly believe she deserves to be recognized. I am a teeny bit surprised and disappointed that Miranda Bailey did not receive a nod, only because I think she is absolutely fantastic. As for Izzie, Heigl's competition is Emily Blunt in "Gideon's Daughter", Toni Collette in "Tsunami, The Aftermath", Sarah Paulson from "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip"; and Elizabeth Perkins in "Weeds."
Let's see... What else...

•  "Grey's Anatomy" recently earned high marks from civil rights groups for its diverse cast. Special recognition for this achievement was placed at the feet of creator and producer Shonda Rhimes, who happens to be a black woman. Two other ABC shows, "Ugly Betty" and "Desperate Housewives" earned nods for their Hispanic cast members.
•  Spoilers are already talking about "Six Days", the episode scheduled January 4th.
If you don't want to know what they're saying... STOP READING.
(You know you're going to peek.)
Meredith and Derek discover what it's REALLY like to be a couple. Let's just say sleep habits become a problem. Meredith's father makes a visit to Seattle Grace. I can only imagine what that will deliver. And remember Izzie saying Denny's mucho dinero should go for a "good cause"? Well, the check will be cashed.
•   And also on the news front... if you can call it "news": Ellen Pompeo appears in the January issue of "Playboy".
Yeah, I wouldn't know -- and won't find out first-hand -- but I'm guessing she's not a centerfold. The darling skinny-minnie talks about how she wishes she could GAIN ten pounds.
Seriously?

Thanks for the update...it'll keep the withdrawls at bay for a few days at least. :)

I still don't undertand what happened. Why did they all of a sudden start playing re-runs?! We got so depressed after the 1st re-runs a couple of weeks back. I mean it was like a "deer in headlight" look. Out of now where! Was there a way of foreseeing this happening, I mean had I known they were going off air for 4 weeks we would have been able to be prepared for it.
How can I get these kind of warnings?
Thanks for all the info you have on your blog though, it was great seeing some news we did not know on our favorite show.

What is the problem with this show? No one wants to see re-runs every week. You have a winning thing going on here, but why are no news episodes being made? I have never seen this happen before on a top rating show. Your fans are upset. They wait every week for the show and then are showed something they have already seen several times. Punkinseed

I just checked the t.v. listings for Thursday, January 4th and I see that they have reruns scheduled again...in fact, I see that they are supposed to air two rerun episodes. I am so tired of the repeated disappointment each week when I log onto ABC's website just to see that there will be yet another rerun.

Some people may like reruns, but for people who never miss an episode, nothing is more aggravating.
