Sandra Oh skiing!

My friend Joe saw Sandra Oh this weekend in Vail and she had two "friends/assistants" carrying her skis and her poles.....life's hard! She was kinda short and had a really red nose -- wearing all blue....helmet on. She looked really tired from skiing. Headed to Lion's Head - the really, really wealthy area. Cool!

I'm still crying

Okay, most of you don't know me, but I hate movies or anything that makes me emote - I hate crying, which is why it is such an enigma that I love this show.

I could have done without most of the "heaven" scenes, but HELL, they really got me with two things: 1) Meredith's mother showing up (I'm starting to weep as I write this) and 2) Denny "feeling" Izzie -- that just broke my heart....and the ending with Denny and Izzie passing through the same space - I bawled. Isn't that what we all wish for? To be a part of the person that has passed? To share some piece of the air they breathe, the space they occupy? It made me so sad because I truly hope it feels a little that way when we depart - but what suffering to barely feel them and long to feel them. Heartbreaking, but I guess that is the "circle of life' huh?

On to Addison...would you REALLY want to be with a man that you have to bribe to stop having sex with nameless, countless women? Why would she even consider McSteamy when he visibly winced at her suggestion to stop having sex? I know I am not a man and don't understand that physical need, but if he really wanted to be with her, would she really have to TELL him....wouldn't he be trying to prove it while he pined away for her...or is that not man enough?

I also cried when RIchard was talking to Meredith's mom after she had passed. That was so sad...I did like that he said he dyed his hair for the "ladies". I figured that was what was going on because really isn't that what is usually going on when someone makes such a change in themselves?

Here's hoping (at least from my standpoint) that we can now move on from all the sad stuff to some fun, funny stuff. PLEASE!!! :)

On Edge

We're all on edge, right? Will Meredith make it?
That's really all we care about in this episode... I'm guessing.
So many of you brought up an interesting topic.
Even if Meredith does "come back," won't she be brain-damaged?
I remember hearing in my 7th grade CPR class that when the brain is denied oxygen for a certain period of time, the brain is fried. Right? So even if our beloved Ms. Mer returns from her flirtation with the other side, won't she be mashed potatoes?
Of course, not. It's TV, right? But I'm certainly no medical expert, but maybe some of you have some insight.
Then again... The title of the latest episode IS "Some Kind of Miracle." .... Hmmm.

Addison's Anatomy?

We are not sure where this came from, but someone sent it to us...it looks kinda well-written, so could be from a legit source?

.....Could we be in for "Addison's Anatomy"?

The diagnosis: ABC could heal with 'Grey's' spinoff Might we all be discussing Addison’s anatomy next year as well? ABC, which has fallen from first to third in adults 18-49 this season, is rumored to be considering a spinoff of its monster hit “Grey’s Anatomy” that would focus on Meredith Grey’s erstwhile romantic rival, Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd. It would seem like a no-brainer for the network, which has struggled to launch new dramas out of successful ones like “Grey’s” and “Lost” over the past two years. Meanwhile, “Grey’s” is red-hot right now, having pulled its best adults 18-34 ratings of the season for its past two episodes. A two-hour episode to air in May would serve as the de facto pilot for the “Grey’s” spinoff, according to The Wall Street Journal. And it would be written by “Grey’s” creator Shonda Rhimes. Kate Walsh plays Montgomery-Shepherd, Derek’s ex-wife and a neonatal surgeon. Though she joined the cast as the first season was ending, she quickly became one of the more popular characters despite her rivalry with Meredith for Derek’s affections. It’s not clear what the focus of the new show would be, though Walsh’s character would likely leave Seattle Grace Hospital, perhaps returning to New York.

So.... would you watch?

'Drowning on Dry Land'

So after this latest episode, do I STILL think Meredith is going to die?
NO.
I don't.
I did think for a split-second there that we were going to see a "Dallas" moment... and it was all going to be a dream. But then, she saw Denny and the paramedic. But even so, I think she'll back away from the light and return to her earthly life and loves... for OUR sakes as much as for hers.

Ugh- I'm Drowning too

I am not really happy with this 3 show "story arc". I agree with Katharyn that this is feeling a lot like ER which I never liked.

Does anyone really believe that Meredith is going to die? Seriously? I can't even take it seriously. And if she does die, I would say I am pretty much done!

I did like seeing Denny back -- with rosy cheeks no less. If we can keep him here for a while that might not be bad. But, did anyone ever watch the Sopranos with Tony when he was shot and in a coma and experiencing all of this crazy retrospective of his life -- this feels a lot like that and I hated that too. Not to mention....Lost just did that with Desmond - but it DID work -- but that's another blog!

'Walking on Water'

This episode felt too (gasp) ER-ish to me. Other than the humorous stuff about the chief's hair - which was pretty funny - it didn't "feel" like a Grey's Anatomy.
I recognize disasters happen and real doctors are sent out into the field to help with triage. And thank goodness they do! But that's real-life. And I don't watch Grey's for real life.
I did love Alex in this episode. What a guy, huh? He was the real 'knight in shining whatever' to me.
And isn't it just the truth that one little thing (or big thing... like an engagement) can get around a workplace like wildfire? And you know what? Cristina had plenty of opportunities to tell Meredith, first. Heck, it might have improved her mood, if she had! But then... the storyline would've been shot to you know where. And wasn't it cute that Preston just HAD to tell Shepherd. Can you blame him? I mean the guy is HAPPY. Is that a crime?
Ok. I know I missed a lot of stuff, but this one didn't hold my attention like the others.
Oh! And you know the all-too-perky doctor who gets into a battle of wits with Callie in the free clinic? You know... McCheesy. Can someone please just slap her?
What is with Meredith and water?
I get the whole symbolism that she's "drowning"... emotionally. But first the bathtub... and then she falls in the water? Well - they can't kill her off. The show is friggin called "GREY'S" Anatomy. She's the GREY, right?

•  Why is Izzie eating everything in sight?
•  Are Alex and Addison going to get together?
•  Cristina and Burke's big announcement....

What's Next?

Here's a preview of what's to come on 'Grey's'. Buckle your seatbelt and hold on...

If Wishes Were Horses...

My mother has always said, "If wishes were horses, we'd all have a ride."
That seems a suitable description of the 'Wishin' and Hopin' episode.
I couldn't believe how CLOSE Meredith came to having a second chance at a real relationship with her mother and how devastating it was to realize Ellis had slipped away, again.

The tenderness between Ellis and Richard was sweet, but almost seemed a little selfish. As a career woman and a mother, I just cannot fathom allowing a career - even an almighty surgical career - to get in the way of cherishing my daughter. What a waste, and I suppose we saw Ellis share the realization of that and her regret over it. But I felt a little cheated for Meredith's sake there. Dammit, spend the time of lucidity you have cherishing your daughter... not damaging her... and not pining for a long-since-over relationship with Richard.

Maybe I'm being too harsh.

Okay. No. I'm not. I don't blame Meredith for trying to avoid "the gift." She has probably longed for years for her mother to come around. And when Ellis finally does... Meredith is slapped in the face because she admits she's happy? That's just cruel. Some "gift."

I found it a little out of character for Cristina to ask Ellis if she could have it all. Love and career. What does Ellis know about that? Granted. We know little about her role as mother, but I think we know enough to safely say she didn't even try to strike a balance. I really hurt for Meredith... yet again. I know I'm supposed to, though.

I don't know if George's wish that his friends accept his marriage to Callie will ever materialize. And shut my mouth. I did NOT expect them to get hitched. I really expected Callie to come to her senses and smack George and say, "Snap out of it!"

And I honestly did not know what Cristina was going to do. I'm grateful Preston asked her, "So, are you saying, 'yes'?" I found it funny that a woman said she doesn't 'do rings.' So many men say that. (Mine tried to. Yeah, that lasted about a MINUTE.) I think the way they grabbed each other laughing with excitement is the only time we've seen Preston and Cristina simply giddy. Crazy about each other. I couldn't help but smile.

What is with Addison? How in the world did she wind back up in McSteamy's bed? Is she ignoring her feelings for Alex on purpose? Probably. I would imagine it's easier for her to gravitate toward the familiar and detached than to give another real relationship a chance. Sort of understandable, I think. But still! He's such a slut! Then again, she did say she wasn't thinking about HIM, at all. I think we know WHO she was thinking about.

And speaking of McSteamy. What did you think of his refusal to help pack and wrap the toxic patient? Believe it or not, I agreed with him, and who doesn't love an intern? Aren't they always over-the-top eager to please. To DO anything asked of them? Why not send THEM into harm's way. Gotta love interns. I was one once. Luckily, it wasn't in a HOSPITAL!

If you missed the episode... you can watch it online for free: Click Here!
It's also on ABC again tonight. 9/8 central.
Until next time.

Out of Rehab

Well, it looks like life is imitating art. Despite a big boo-boo at work... Isaiah Washington (Dr. Preston Burke) is back on the job. Washington spent a week in counseling for his use of a homophobic slur. He's supposed to return to the set of "Grey's" today.
While surfing for a little more information on the subject, I came across this interesting take... (Click Here: 'Can "Grey's Anatomy" heal itself... ?") Happy reading.
