Desire
I can't believe Derek and Meredith are back at the same crossroad yet again. Of course, it would be boring, if they just fell in love and stayed in love, right? Anyway, this episode featured Izzie/George/Callie, Meredith/Derek/Chief Job, McSteamy/Addison/Alex with having to make choices.
The odds don't look so great in making the right choice on this show: Addison chose Alex over McSteamy and was cruelly rejected. "You're not my girlfriend" - -that was about the meanest thing I have ever heard Alex say. I don't know if he is doing that so much because he is afraid of becoming a burger-grilling, kid-loving MAN or if he really just wanted to conquer Addison and move on. I didn't get the feeling he felt too guilty about rejecting her. But we also know that this is the catalyst to spin Addison off the Grey's show into a new show of her own....wouldn't make much sense if she and Alex were the perfect couple. So, just keep that in mind. I still think that once Eve recovers, Alex might find himself in love with her. It certainly looks like she might be falling for him. So, my love affair with the new Alex has ended with his mean rejection of Addison. And, by the way....do they really have midday sex with each other in hospitals like that? Geez!
Okay, so on to making choices. Derek feels like he has to choose between Meredith and the chief job...which is interesting because this would be an easy area to make the wrong choice. Choose Meredith and deal with her "issues" and Richard will make sure you don't get the Chief job and will ride you the rest of your life to take care of her. Dump Meredith and you don't get the Chief job because Richard will resent you for hurting her. I just can't believe that the dude who was fawning over her a few weeks ago, now isn't sure he loves her more than the opportunity to be Chief. You know they will split. They have to!
Which brings me to Izzie and all that drama which I am fed up with! Here is what I think: George does not and never has loved Callie. She was a rebound from Meredith and he married her during his grief over his father. Izzie was not available during that period because she was still mourning Denny. Izzie and George are soulmates.... they were even before they slept together. So, now they can choose to be together and hurt Callie (not to mention her rich daddy - I bet he comes back if there is a divorce) and change their friendship which is probably so strong because they weren't lovers. Making the choice to become lovers over being friends could also be bad. They might lose what is so special between them forever. Or, they might not. Or, George can stay in his safe but emotionally unsatisfying marriage with Callie. Either way, he might lose.
Look at the Chairman of the board: he got a fish up his wanker and he lost both of his girls -- isn't that the symbolism for all of those other relationships? Never make a choice and end up losing everything. You can't have your cake and eat it too??...but, look at Cristina and Burke - they had a lot of cake and ate all of it.

Sneak Peek to Next Week
Oh... and speaking of next week... here's a preview:
Time After Time
Wow. Where to begin. I've been out of touch with 'Grey's' so long, it was almost hard to settle in for the newest episode. Almost. Then, of course, the magic that is my favorite show began to work its spell on me.
Such a sad theme weaved its way through "Time After Time." To me, it asked over-and-over "Who am I, and where do I fit in?"
Susan Grey keeps trying to find common ground with Meredith. I adore her character. She's so sweet and really tries with Meredith, even when Meredith doesn't seem willing or able to receive her love and care. I was happy to see toward the end of this show that she might be allowing a little bit of a crack in her armor toward her step-mother. But I wonder... where the heck is her Dad?

Grey's spinoff
I am hearing that the May 3rd episode of Grey's will probably be the episode that sets up the spinoff which Kate Walsh (Addison) will star in. Stay tuned!
