A Change is Gonna Come
Every Grey's episode has a great lineup of music. The song missing from this season premiere is one that would have summed up what's going on.
"Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes..."
The other thing that occurred to me was that almost every scene felt awkward. But I'm sure that's by design. I mean, Shonda said she was burning it all down. So in the wake of that, awkward makes sense, right? At the very LEAST... awkward. Most people probably would have cut and run after everything that happened.
I mean, Cristina DID get left at the altar. Burke is now no where to be found and left Derek to tell her he's gone. For good. (I do miss his character.)
Meredith and Derek are weird to each other. What is with that? But the whole Mer-Der thing is what keeps most of us glued. Their rollercoaster is our rollercoaster and it's a ride! Please don't let them be broken up.
Meredith meeting her half-sister in a trauma was a little strange. Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. How does that happen, by the way? She has had contact with her Dad and knew he had one daughter whose baby she'd helped take care of! She didn't KNOW about Lexi? That's just far-fetched to me. But Grey's is not exactly reality. Thank goodness!
McDreamy has never looked McDreamier. Gawd I missed my fix of him. I didn't realize how much I'd missed my fix. That hair... those eyes... That look... Those eyes...
Oh - sorry. I'm drooling.
Then there's McSteamy... There's something different about him. I'm expecting some great things there. (Fingers crossed!)
Izzie is a train wreck, as usual. C'mon. A deer? She's a joke to her interns. But that's what makes her lovable Izzie. Or Bambi. Is that the newest nickname? Still... the whole George thing bugs me. And I'm still not buying George and Callie as husband and wife. (Pregnant? Puleeez, no!) And now that we know George is in love with Izzie, too... what a mess.This is an area that's just a turn-off for me. Maybe it'll get more interesting, but I just loved George as the dorky best friend. Making him all sexy-fied and the object of a love triangle is just not believable to me. But it's just one opinion. And was I the only one thinking that there might be something there between George and Lexi?
Speaking of Lexi... she really is great. George was right to say she's pretty awesome. I loved how she gave him the what-for when it came to feeling sorry for himself. And how cool was it for her to keep his secret with the other interns?
I'm going to be interested to see if any of the other new interns get to be more prominent... other than Lexi, of course. I'm not saying that's what I want, necessarily. Just curious.
I am loving Bailey, though. Classic Bailey. She was passed over for Chief Resident which she clearly deserved, and she's handling the whole thing as only Bailey can. I still want to BE her. She's tough as nails with a heart of gold. Love her!
And did we get a hint that Rebecca ... aka Ava ... might be a thread somewhere for Alex? We know Burke's gone. He's going to another show, right? But could Rebecca return? Probably not, but it was a nice thought.

So glad it's back. And I'm digging McSteamy's haircut.
The step mom character did mention her "other daughter in med school" at one point early on. It seems like there is bad blood between Lexi and her dad and maybe even with her sister too. They just may not have had much contact. But why does she "have" to be in Seattle instead of Mass General? To take care of dad? Her sister?
Tell me, why was Callie so convinced she "was a failure at her marriage" on top of everything else...when we last saw her, she was bragging about she and George trying to start a family and what a "big day" they were having. Now suddenly she's a failure?
And what was with all the symbolism. The whole Bambi thing, etc...It all just seemed sort of hokey to me.
Hey, I'm a die hard fan, but I'm a bit confused...so does Lexi have a kid? Or is there a 3rd child?
Anyhow, she's too goody two shoes...I don't like it.
I still love Cristina, vulnerable but strong, who doesn't love her?
And I'm all about Bailey being a surgeon. I LOVE Bailey too!
I hate George.
Yes.. it does seem that there are three Grey girls. Meredith, the one who had the baby and Lexi. It is kind of confusing, isn't it?
Is there something in common with Derek and Lexi?
I'm from Switzerland and the 4th season just plays on TV. But I can't wait...
